University Residence

Student accommodation may be offered by the CROUS of Paris. Students may be offered one-room apartment with kitchen, bathroom, WC , TV/phone socket. Most of the apartments are furnished and contain a writing desk, desk lamp, office chair, bed, built-in wardrobe, etc. Rents vary between 672€ and 730€ Euros per month (without custom APL scheme). However, the rooms offered by this organization are on very restricted numbers and students had to be under specific social conditions.

Housing Subsidies

Accommodation Financial Aid ("APL") may be given by the French government through CAF, the Caisse d'allocations familiales (CAF) on specific criteria (resources, surface, valid resident permit) up to 1/3 of the value of the rent.

For this, students need to fill the form at http://www.caf.fr/ (the form is at this exact address: http://www.caf.fr/pdfj/al0.pdf). Send the filled form with the following items : 1. a housing certificate (to be asked to your residence), 2. a certificate of your bank account ("Releve d'Identite Bancaire"), to be asked to your bank, 3. a Xerox of your visa and your passport.
